Definition of Faith
What is faith? This article will teach you how to live by faith and only depend upon God for all that you need in life. A lot of information has been written about faith. Many pastors, teachers, and people talk about faith because it matters in life for success. Without faith, you cannot succeed in anything. Faith means that you are going to believe that something will happen regardless of if you have the ability to complete the task at hand. For example, if you wanted to start an ice create business, you may not have enough money to do so. However, with faith, you can receive what you have been wanting to accomplish. You may say to yourself, “I only have $12,000 for my ice cream business, but I need $24,000.” How can one get enough money to start a business? In order to answer this question, you have to believe that you are supposed to accomplish this in life. If you don’t believe you are meant to do this, you will not receive it in return.” You must thank God for all that he has given to you and then ask God for what you need. Through having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you can ask God for anything and if it is his will, it will happen for you.
First, believe that you will receive what you want. Second, find ways in order to make it happen. Ask God to show you what you must do in order to get you from point A to B. It may take some time to get an answer. A secret that I can share with you is that the more people you tell about what you are trying to accomplish, the faster chance you will have of getting what you want. You would be surprised at what one person can do for you. They may be the link that you need to get to your next chapter in life. Many people fail to ask others for help when they need it. Did you know that most people want you to ask them for help? It gives them a sense of purpose if they can fulfill that need. You may be able to do the same for them without even knowing it. The definition of faith is easily explained. Believe and you will receive.
First Find Your Purpose
First, what is the reason for you wanting something? Let us say you want to finish your education and you lack the funds necessary to complete your task. First, say to yourself, Jesus will make a way for me. Once you know in your heart that this is what God wants you to do, he will open up doors for you. When you live by faith, you cannot doubt. Let us say you were believing that you would get up enough money for your tuition. When you find the money, thank God for it. He opened a door for you to receive. Next, don’t focus on how you are going to pay for the next semester. Instead, thank God for making a way and for giving you an opportunity to succeed. When you are ready for the next semester, God will show you what you need to do next in order to complete your next semester. This is living by faith. Faith has no true plan of how you are going to get from point A to Z. You must go from A to B to C one step at a time without worry. When you worry about what will happen six months from now, you are lacking in faith and trust in God. Somewhere in your being, you don’t believe that God can provide for you.
How to Overcome Fear
Fear is not easy to overcome. It takes a lot of prayers and believing that God can give something to you regardless of your situation. Let us say that for the past three years, you have been living in poverty after having ten years of prosperity. In your mind, you may have lost faith because no matter what you do, your situation does not get better. You may be losing faith and hope. In order to correct this, you must look at your situation and say, “Perhaps I am looking at this the wrong way.” You may be wanting something that God is saying no to. Many people hit walls in their life and wonder why God is not giving them what they want. Many people feel like God has abandoned them. In reality, God has not abandoned you. You are not alone.
First, complete the mission that God has given to you. If you truly believe that you are supposed to get a bachelor’s or master’s degree right now, don’t worry about how you are going to find employment when you graduate. That is trying to move from A to Z. That is not walking by faith. That is worrying about how you are going to accomplish your entire mission at once. God takes us one step at a time. He doesn’t tell us all of the steps that will happen. Instead, he asks us to take it one day at a time. Jesus said, “Do not worry about tomorrow.”
First thank God for making a way for you to have what you have right now. Maybe you were able to get all of your books for this semester and have your tuition covered. Next, you need to just focus on your task at hand. One step at a time.
Youth often have the habit of wanting everything right now. They may say, “I want to have lots of money by age 30.” They will then try to find ways to make lots of money in order to fulfill this dream. Instead of learning a good skill, they will often stay too focused on money.
Wanting finer things in Life
It is okay to want a Ferrari or a mansion. However, don’t think about how much money it costs to get what you want. Instead, think about how one would go about getting a Ferrari in steps. You may say, first I need to go to the dealership to find out how much the car is. Once I find out how much the car is, I must look in my bank account to see if I have the money for one. If the car is $100,000 and you only have $1,000.00 left in your bank account, you are going to have to pray for a way to receive the car. Now it takes faith. God will show you what must happen in order for you to receive the car. For starters, how much money will you need to pay the insurance if you got it today? Can you afford it? The problem that you are having is not that you don’t have enough money to get the car. It is that you don’t have enough job skills to maintain the car or to buy it. If you had a job skill that is well needed and you are good at it, you will be able to make good money to afford to buy the car. Your first task is to ask yourself what you like to do. From there, develop a skill in order for you to be able to buy the car. When you have good job skills, you will be able to make money in order to buy a car. Let us say that you love auto mechanics. You may say to yourself, “Auto mechanics don’t make enough money to buy a Ferrari.” Yes, that is true because the average salary for an auto mechanic is under $50,000. However, if you got really good and owned your own auto mechanic shop, you could afford to buy a Ferrari with hard work and discipline of funds. That is one avenue to take. Another would be to find another way to get a Ferrari by looking at cheaper car prices on the internet or at dealerships. The point here is that you must find ways how you can get the car. Asking Jesus for a way is the way in which you get what you want. Jesus will eventually show you how to get what you desire with faith.
What is God Trying to Teach You?
Living day by day is what God wants you to do. Mankind will teach you to live by what is in your bank account and that being wealthy is the only way to have true happiness on earth. God teaches us that faith is what will give us what we want and need. Pride is something that every Christian must get rid of in their heart. If you are afraid to tell people that you need something, you have to strip that pride away. Perhaps you don’t want to let people know that you have a need. Maybe as a child, you were taught that it is wrong to ask for help.
Don’t Be a Baby When You Can’t Get What You Want
Many times we throw tantrums at God when we get fed up with not getting what we want. We can often pray for something for years and not receive it. We may think that God has forgotten about us. When you are in a situation where you feel that you are not getting what you need, thank God that he has something better in store for you. God always has a much bigger plan for us. Even when we think that things could not get any better, we often see that they can. With God, faith, and trust, we can get through any situation. Read any story in the Bible and you will see that it takes faith to follow God. God often does not make the road easy for us. God told Joseph in a dream to take baby Jesus away to another city because King Hoard was going to come and kill all of the children under two years of age. Joseph left in trust that God knew what was going to happen before it even happened. God knows our needs even before we ask him. Trusting that he knows us better than we know ourselves is a first step.
Faith requires you to read your Holy Bible each day. Many people make the mistake of thinking that they can just pray and not read the Bible. Without the Bible, it will be almost impossible for you to get through any spiritual test or to understand what is going on in your life. It is important to just ask God for his will and go with the flow. God’s word will speak to you and the Lord will begin to teach you new things about his word and his law.
